BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Mark Lewis as head of climate change investment research.
In the newly-created Paris-based role Lewis will work on climate change and energy transition and their implications for current and future investment decision making.
The position will also include analysing energy finance and regulatory developments, establishing a framework to identify and monitor climate-related risks across portfolios, and conducting sector and company research to provide insight into specific risks and opportunities.
Lewis has more than 20 years’ experience as a financial analyst covering energy and environmental markets. He joins from the Carbon Tracker think tank, where he was head of research.
Previously, he has worked as managing director and head of European utilities research at Barclays, chief energy economist at Kepler Cheuvreux and managing director and head of carbon research at Deutsche Bank.
