The Anthropocene Fixed Income Institute (AFII), a body dedicated to research for fixed-income investors around climate transition, has confirmed Umang Vithlani as its new research director in London.
With a 20-year tenure in credit markets and a background in managing investment-grade portfolios, Vithlani’s appointment is expected to bring experienced oversight to the institute’s research initiatives.
His previous roles include head of credit and senior portfolio manager at Fideuram Asset Management in Ireland and senior credit hedge fund manager at Aviva Investors, in addition to strategic stints at ING, Calypso Technology and T.D. Securities.
Vithlani is also a University of Manchester alumnus with a BA in Accounting and Law.
At AFII, Vithlani will be contributing to the institute’s goals of offering credit practitioners resources to assess and integrate climate risk and sustainability into their financial decision-making processes.
