| Border to Coast Pensions Partnership was created as part of the consolidation of the assets of Local Government Pension Schemes in the UK. We are owned by 11 such funds and they are our only customers. We manage ~£40bn in assets across equities, fixed income, and private markets with a mix of internal and external portfolio management and oversee a further £8bn of assets in passive strategies.
Investment philosophy We are long term investors in quality companies, assets and managers at attractive valuations. We pursue a repeatable and systematic investment process tailored to each asset class and method of delivery. We are a responsible investor with ESG and carbon considerations integrated into the investment process as both a source of risk and opportunity. Team We have a large team of investment professionals with extensive experience managing investments directly or selecting and monitoring external managers. This includes portfolio managers, research analysts and other investment functions such as responsible investment, portfolio risk and operational due diligence. The size and quality of this team is a key contributor to generating strong risk-adjusted returns over the long term with an exceptionally attractive cost base. Over 75% of our funds have outperformed their benchmarks since inception and ClearGlass Analytics ranked us first in their efficiency scheme index of over 1,000 pension schemes based on value for money. |
