Sustainable investment specialist Candriam has named Nicholas Forest as its new chief investment officer.
Forest, currently global head of fixed income, will be based in Brussels, where he will lead a team of 200 investment professionals.
In this new role, he will oversee all Candriam’s investments, including fixed income, equities, absolute return, asset allocation and sustainable portfolios.
Forest has been with Candriam since 2013, previously working as a money market fund manager and later head of rates strategy.
He will take up the role of CIO on May 1, replacing current incumbent Vincent Hamelink, who was recently appointed Candriam chief executive.
Hamelink commented: “With 20 years of experience in positions of responsibility at our company, Nicolas has proven his qualities as a manager and leader.
“I look forward to continuing Candriam’s story with him at my side.”
Forests said he was honoured to take on the CIO role and reaffirmed the group’s values of “conviction and responsibility” in its investment approach.
Meanwhile, Forest’s current role as global head of fixed income will be taken up by Philippe Noyard, who is also currently global head of credit and deputy global head of fixed income.
Noyard will be based in Paris, heading a 40-strong team and overseeing Candriam’s €40 billion fixed income business.
Candriam has €139 billion of assets under management.
It operates out of management offices in Luxembourg, Brussels, Paris, and London and has client representatives in more than 20 countries across Europe, the US and the Middle East.
