State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Miles O’Connor as head of its institutional business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea).
The role is newly created and O’Connor joins from Unigestion’s UK business where he was chairman and a non-executive director.
O’Connor, who has started the role already, is based in London and reports to Cuan Coulter, the regional head of SSGA, and Cyrus Taraporavela, president and chief executive of SSGA.
He will be a member of the executive management team and be responsible for existing institutional client relationships and developing new business across the region.
Coulter said the appointment would help delivering the focus necessary for SSGA’s institutional business.
