RWC Partners is to launch a Cayman-domiciled fund, which will be managed by the European team that recently joined from Hermes Fund Managers.
Headed by Maarten Wildschut and Petteri Soininen, the six-strong team is already responsible for the Constructive Activist, a pan-European equity fund.
RWC Partners says the strategy has a capacity of up to $1 billion (€778.3 million) and the new fund will take the form of a Cayman master-feeder fund. Investing in a concentrated portfolio of between 10 and 20 companies, the team will combine elements of value-based, private equity and event-driven investing.
Dan Mannix, principal, says the launch of a Cayman-domiciled version “reflects the desire of investors to access the strategy efficiently”.
