Nomura Asset Management, a part of the investment management division of Japan’s Nomura Group, has appointed Richard Hastings as client portfolio manager, strengthening its fixed income team in London.
Hastings will report to Mari Nakamura, senior managing director and chief executive of Nomura Asset Management UK, and will be based in the firm’s London office.
In his new role, he will provide client portfolio management support for the firm’s Global Dynamic Bond Fund, alongside other fixed income capabilities. His responsibilities will also cover corporate hybrid bonds, government fixed income, credit strategies, and the development and delivery of NAM’s interest rate-related investment solutions.

Hastings joins from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he spent more than 12 years as a client portfolio manager covering investment grade credit portfolios across the Emea region. He also oversaw coverage of emerging market debt portfolios.
Hastings said: “Market volatility in the first half of 2026 has highlighted the value of portfolio diversification and active management. Investors are increasingly seeking managers who can deliver alpha from this market environment while navigating complex geopolitical and economic risks.
