The UK’s Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association has appointed Richard Butcher to become its new chairperson from October.
Butcher, managing director of financial consultancy PTL, will succeed Lesley Williams whose two-year tenure ends later this year.
With a career that spans more than 30 years in the pensions industry, Butcher is a fellow and council member of the UK’s Pensions Management Institute.
Butcher is also a member of the Pensions Regulator’s defined contribution practitioner panel and a member of the UK’s Department of Work and Pensions trustee panel.
“I am proud and humbled to be appointed as chair of the PLSA and to succeed Lesley Williams,” Butcher said.
“I intend to build on the hard work of the association members, the councils and committees and the executive of the PLSA to ensure that we continue to inform the debate and represent the views and interests of our members.”
