Northern Trust Asset Management has launched two emerging market ETFs focused on climate and carbon-footprint reduction.
Launched through the firm’s FlexShares brand, one fund targets companies paying high dividends, while the other looks to control volatility.
The FlexShares Emerging Markets High Dividend Climate ESG Ucits ETF and the FlexShares Emerging Markets Low Volatility Climate ESG Ucits ETF are the second launches for Northern Trust’s FlexShares’ ETF offerings in Europe.
Listed on the Euronext exchange and Deutsche Börse, the funds are available in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
The strategies will utilise Northern Trust’s ‘quality’ factor scoring in an effort to identify companies that exhibit strength in profitability, management expertise and cash flow, while also maximising the portfolio’s ESG exposure and reducing its carbon footprint.
