Nomura Asset Management has appointed Kapish Patel as co-portfolio manager for its corporate hybrid bond fund.
Based in London, Patel will report to Julian Marks, head of corporate hybrid bonds.
Patel previously worked for Neuberger Berman as an associate portfolio manager on the investment grade credit team focusing on non-USD corporate bonds.
The asset manager shared they expect this appointment to bolster its fixed income capability, particularly its corporate hybrid bond fund. The fund, currently managed by Marks, was launched in August 2023.
Marks highlighted that the corporate hybrid bond market continues to grow as issuers seek to “optimise their capital structures, support their credit ratings and minimise their weighted cost of capital by issuing these bonds”.
