Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) has launched the Morgan Stanley Private Markets Eltif, a semi-liquid fund aimed at high-conviction investments in the middle market across Europe, the US and Asia.
The vehicle will be managed by MSIM’s Portfolio Solutions Group.
The strategy targets high-conviction opportunities spanning private equity, private credit, real assets and select public investments. According to the provider, it focuses on themes such as digitisation, sustainability, deglobalisation and evolving living patterns.
The fund follows a bottom-up investment process supported by market and fundamental analysis. MSIM said it plans to use its global sourcing network to partner with third-party managers, with co-investments expected to play a role in portfolio construction.
Eltif 2.0 is the updated EU regulation for European Long-Term Investment Funds, designed to make it easier for retail and professional investors to access private markets like infrastructure, real estate and private equity.
Structured under the Eltif 2.0 regime, the fund offers monthly subscriptions and potential quarterly redemptions. Alongside private market allocations, it may also invest in public fixed income and other eligible instruments to support liquidity and portfolio management.
