Insight Investment has bolstered its insurance business with the appointment of Heneg Parthenay to the newly created role of head of insurance.
Parthenay has more than 14 years’ experience in the insurance and investment management industries. He joins Insight from BNY Mellon Investment Management Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where he was chief operating officer and head of insurance, and also previously held the role of strategy and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) director at Aviva Investors. He specialises in asset liability management, mergers and acquisitions and capital management.
Parthenay will be based in London and report to Philip Anker, global head of distribution.
“Low interest rates, and the accompanying search for yield, have encouraged insurers to look at the wider fixed income universe,” says Anker. “Heneg will draw on Insight’s broad range of fixed income capabilities to give insurers access to our specialist expertise in areas such as illiquid credit.”
Anker adds that Parthenay will also work closely with Insight’s liability driven investment team, which currently has a special focus on providing support to clients as they approach the Solvency II implementation deadline in 2016.
