Funds Europe bids farewell to the West End and moves to London’s financial district following our sale to the publishing firm behind a leading DC pensions magazine.
Definite Article Media, publisher of Corporate Adviser, has bought Funds Europe from Punter Southall Group, which has owned Funds Europe for five years.
The deal – for an undisclosed sum – means Funds Europe’s staff move from The Strand and back to the Cannon Street area in the City of London, near to where the business initially existed.
Along with Corporate Adviser, Definite Article Media also publishes Health & Protection, Benefits Expert and CAPA-data.com.

“Our growth has been rapid since Definite Article Media was set up five years ago when we did an MBO of Corporate Adviser, and the addition of Funds Europe means we now have five publications.”
Greenwood added that it would largely be “business as usual” for Funds Europe, but synergies would also be found.
Nick Fitzpatrick, co-publisher of Funds Europe, said: “Definite Article Media has a very strong data-gathering ability, for example, which we hope to leverage for our own research purposes. Also, we can significantly augment our in-person events, both in the UK and further afield.”
He added: “We’ve loved being a part of Punter Southall for the past few years and are sorry to leave our colleagues. But joining a publishing business teeming with experience and ability is the best way for us to go.”
Steve Butler, CEO of Punter Southall Aspire, said that combining the asset management coverage of the Funds Europe team with the established journalism of Definite Article Media offers “even more informed and varied insight for a growing audience”.
