The deadline for the Funds Europe Awards 2023 is fast approaching. Last year, Northern Trust won Transfer Agent of the Year. The title was won partly because our judges acknowledged the firm’s investment in technology.
Funds Europe spoke to Kate Webber (pictured), head of product strategy at Northern Trust, in our July/August 2023 issue.
Webber highlighted the rollout of the firm’s Fund Utility strategy in the UK, which is designed to increase straight-through processing.
Transfer agency – or “TA” – is a critical connection point between asset managers and their clients. The TA provides registrations services, for example, and the quality of the customer experience provided by the TA is crucial for the fund manager’s own reputation.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: 1st August 2023
Webber also revealed that Northern Trust is exploring the ability to provide ESG ratings to investors’ individual portfolios.
“As keepers of the investor’s data, there is potentially an ability for us to combine investor data and fund-level ESG data to create a personalised ESG rating based on an individual retail or institutional portfolio,” says Webber.
