Global investment management firm Franklin Templeton has unveiled its latest offerings for European investors with the launch of two new sustainable, thematic exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
The Franklin Future of Food Ucits ETF and Franklin Future of Health and Wellness Ucits ETF join the firm’s existing range of sustainable ETFs and provide exposure to companies engaged in sustainable practices across the healthcare and food sectors.
With the global population projected to reach nearly 10 billion by 2050, the demand for increased food production has become a significant challenge.
The Franklin Future of Food Ucits ETF tracks the performance of the Solactive Sustainable Food Index, which includes companies involved in agriculture machinery, smart farming, aquaculture and sustainable and healthy food production.
The Franklin Future of Health and Wellness Ucits ETF tracks the Solactive Sustainable Health and Wellness Index, offering exposure to companies driving innovation and technological advancements in the healthcare industry. This includes genomics, medical imaging, e-healthcare and mind and body wellness.
Dina Ting, head of global index portfolio management at Franklin Templeton, said, “These new Article 8 ETFs take a multi-dimensional investment approach to stock selection in that they leverage long-term societal shifts resulting from macroeconomic, geopolitical and technological developments.”
The Franklin Future of Food UCITS ETF and Franklin Future of Health and Wellness Ucits ETF will be listed on the Deutsche Börse Xetra, the London Stock Exchange and the Borsa Italiana.
