Columbia Threadneedle’s chief investment officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) has stepped down after nine years in the post.
Mark Burgess (pictured), who joined the firm back in 2010, decided it was time to take a career break. He will be replaced by the firm’s global head of equities, William Davies.
Davies, who joined Columbia Threadneedle at its inception in 1994, will report directly to Colin Moore, the firm’s global chief investment officer.
In 1999, following five years as a European equities portfolio manager, Davies became head of European equities. He subsequently became head of global equities in 2011.
He took up his latest role of global head of equities in 2017, taking on the responsibility of the company’s equity teams across all regions. He will retain this role, as well as becoming Emea chief investment officer.
