City law firm Charles Russell Speechlys has appointed Matthew Griffin as a partner within the firm’s funds and investment management practice.
Griffin joins from Mayer Brown, where he was Head of Funds and Investment Management Europe. Before that, he spent eight years as Partner and Head of Funds and Investment Management (EMEA) at White & Case.
Griffin has more than 25 years’ experience primarily representing mid-market sponsors and institutional investors, including sovereign investors, in a wide range of funds matters. He has acted on a significant number of complex, high-value secondary transactions and co-investment transactions, and has formed funds across asset classes and jurisdictions.
Partner David Collins said: “Matthew is a heavy hitter in funds and investments, and an exciting addition to the Firm’s senior Funds bench strength. As international private capital continues to grow, our clients increasingly require advice on funds and fund formation, not just in the UK but across all of the world’s major wealth centres.
“Whether investors or sponsors, these vehicles often form a critical part of their strategies. Matthew’s experience is a perfect fit for us as we continue to strengthen our capabilities.”
