Candriam, a global multi-asset manager, has appointed Cristina Lugaro as head of distribution – Nordics, effective immediately.
Based in Stockholm and reporting to Olivier Maes, head of distribution, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg & Nordics, Cristina will drive Candriam’s institutional and wholesale growth in the Nordics. She has taken over from Alain Deflandre, head of distribution, Luxembourg & Nordics, who managed the Nordic region during Candriam’s preparation for expansion there. Alain will now focus on his role as head of distribution Luxembourg.
The move is part of Candriam’s broader Nordic expansion plan, which includes opening a Stockholm office in 2025, pending regulatory approval. The asset manager has also enhanced its Nordic presence in recent years, offering ESG-focused funds classified as Article 8 and 9 under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation
HANetf strengthens Nordic sales team
Cristina brings over 19 years of experience in asset management and international sales. According to the firm, she has an understanding of Nordic markets and expertise in alternative investments, including private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and insurance-linked securities. Before joining Candriam, she was head of sales, Sweden, at NPR Capital Advisory AS, where she oversaw sales and marketing strategies for Sweden and Finland.
