Angus Woolhouse has joined Baring Asset Management as global head of distribution, replacing George Harvey, who will retire at the end of April.
Woolhouse was formerly chief executive officer of Matrix Asset Management and left the firm early in 2012. Matrix Group entered administration in November.
Woolhouse has worked in asset management for more than 20 years at companies including Gartmore, Invesco and HSBC Asset Management.
He will be responsible for global sales, client relationship and business development and will report to David Brennan, Barings’ chief executive.
