Aviva Investors, the asset management business of Aviva plc, has announced Kunal Kothari’s appointment as co-portfolio manager for its UK equity income team.
Kothari, with 16 years of experience in equity research and portfolio management, will join the London-based team on February 19, 2024, and report to Trevor Green, head of UK Equities.
Kothari’s professional journey includes his most recent role at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where he has served as an equity analyst and deputy fund manager for the UK Alpha strategy since April 2021. He also managed a team of eight as the research coordinator for the UK equity desk at Columbia Threadneedle.
His previous experiences include significant roles at Merian Global Investors as an equity analyst on the UK All Companies team and positions at Santander and Schroders, focusing on UK Small and Mid-Cap Equity.
In his new role at Aviva Investors, Kothari will handle portfolio management and sector analyst responsibilities, aligning with the broader strategy of the UK equities team.
