Madrid-based investment manager Cobas Asset Management (Cobas AM) has appointed Andrea Barbaranelli as an external agent registered by the Bank of Spain, effective immediately.
Based in Madrid, Barbaranelli will collaborate closely with the distribution team to promote Cobas AM’s value investment solutions and deepen international client engagement, reinforcing the structure led by Spanish value investing advocate Francisco García Paramés.
With an international background, Barbaranelli holds a degree in business administration and management with a specialisation in finance from the Complutense University of Madrid. His education includes further studies in London, Paris, and Madrid, and he is fluent in Spanish, Italian, French, and English.

Barbaranelli was most recently a partner at Azvalor, where he played a pivotal role in the firm’s establishment and growth as a prominent Spanish value investing institution. His career began at Bestinver under Francisco García Paramés’ mentorship, where he focused on building international institutional relationships.
“Barbaranelli’s incorporation to the firm strengthens Cobas’s commitment to the principles of Value Investing, bringing extensive experience in the development of the international institutional market and contributing to the objective of maximising value for investors globally,” Cobas AM stated.
Barbaranelli added: ‘It is a pleasure to be reunited with former colleagues from Bestinver and an honour to work again with Francisco García Paramés’.
