Vanguard recently launched the Vanguard UK Investor Choice Pilot, allowing eligible professional investors in the UK to select from four proxy voting policies.
Under the pilot, the selected policies will determine how investors’ shares of participating funds vote on shareholder matters.
The pilot applies to four UK-domiciled equity index mutual funds: the Vanguard ESG Screened Developed World All Cap Equity Index Fund (UK), Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund, Vanguard FTSE U.K. All Share Index Unit Trust and Vanguard U.S. Equity Index Fund.
Jon Cleborne, head of Europe, Vanguard, commented: “This is about giving UK investors the chance to have more of a voice. Many clients have expressed the desire to have more of a say on shareholder votes and the pilot reflects our commitment to meeting our clients’ needs.”
