Frankfurt-based management company Universal Investment Group has appointed Antonio Soler as Chief Commercial Officer.
Soler will join the group’s management board, reporting directly into Francesca McDonagh, Group Chief Executive Officer. In his new position, Soler will lead the group’s commercial strategy, overseeing all activities across sales, relationship management, fund distribution, marketing & external communications, and sales enablement.
He brings more than 20 years of sales and relationship management experience in the fund services industry.
He joins Universal from Vistra where he most recently served as Global Head of Corporate Business Unit.
In this role, he was responsible for corporate strategy, revenue and growth, M&A, product development, as well as client-facing technology and pricing. During his tenure at Vistra, he also served as Managing Director of the US Corporate Business and Regional Head of the Americas, where he re-established the commercial model and go-to-market processes.
Prior to this, Soler was Vice-President & Head of Global Services at Wolters Kluwer, a global leader in information, software solutions, and services for professionals in tax and accounting, financial and corporate compliance, and legal and regulatory services.
The company has also appointed Frank Becker as Head of Relationship Management for Asset Owners and Asset Managers in the DACH region, effective from January 1, 2026.
Becker will report directly into Antonio Soler and will be responsible for strategic management and development of relationships with all existing clients across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
He joins Universal from Meag Munich Ergo Kag, the capital investment division of the Munich Re Group, where he most recently served as Managing Director and a member of the Board of Management.
