UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) has launched two new Nasdaq-100 Ucits ETFs, offering investors exposure to the traditional Nasdaq-100 and a sustainability-focused alternative.
The UBS ETF (IE) Nasdaq-100 Ucits ETF passively tracks the Nasdaq-100 Notional Index, which comprises the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on Nasdaq. This includes major technology, telecommunications, and biotechnology players, making it a diversified option for investors seeking market-leading firms. The ETF follows a physically replicated structure and is classified under Article 6 of SFDR – the default category for funds that aren’t marketed as ESG and don’t qualify under Articles 8 or 9.
For sustainability-conscious investors, UBS AM has launched the UBS ETF (IE) Nasdaq-100 ESG Enhanced Ucits ETF, which tracks the Nasdaq-100 Sustainable ESG Select Notional Index. This index applies ESG screening criteria, excluding companies with high ESG risk ratings or those involved in controversial business activities. The fund is aligned with Article 8 under SFDR, meaning it actively promotes environmental and social factors in its investment process.
UBS AM launches tokenised investment fund
The ESG-focused ETF ensures that the overall ESG risk score of its holdings is at least 10% lower than the parent index during each semi-annual review. Morningstar Sustainalytics’ ESG Risk Ratings help determine the inclusion of companies, ensuring the fund maintains a lower ESG risk profile. These launches come as investors increasingly seek transparent, rules-based investment strategies incorporating sustainability considerations.
UBS AM’s physically replicated ETFs ensure alignment with evolving investor preferences while maintaining liquidity and efficiency. Clemens Reuter, head ETF & Index Fund Client Coverage, UBS Asset Management, said: “We are delighted to launch our first ever Nasdaq-100 ETFs, and offer our clients the choice between the iconic index, and the sustainable version of the same benchmark.“The UBS ETF (IE) Nasdaq-100 UCITS ETF will be listed on the Sis Swiss Exchange, Xetra and London Stock Exchange, while the UBS ETF (IE) Nasdaq-100 ESG Enhanced UCITS ETF will be listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Xetra.
