SSGA’s former Europe head joins PineBridge as COO

PineBridge Investments has hired Michael Karpik as chief operating officer.

Karpik joins from State Street Global Advisors where he was Europe, Middle East and Africa chief executive officer.

Karpik, who will report to chief executive Gregory Ehret, will be responsible for the firm’s global operations, finance, compliance, risk management, product management, funds, and technology functions.

He is based in New York.

Ehret said: “As we continue to grow and evolve as a firm, we are focused on having a strong and scalable operational infrastructure that keeps pace with our progress, anticipates our clients’ needs, and addresses the challenges ahead.”
