Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research has appointed Charlie McCann as an investment research analyst.
He joins from NLP Financial Management where he worked as an investment analyst. At NLP, he was responsible for maintaining model portfolios for discretionary clients, and helped launch a range of sustainable investment portfolios.
In his new position, McCann’s responsibilities will include working with Square Mile’s 20-person research and consulting team to maintain the company’s Academy of Funds and its universe of rated investment vehicles.
He will also help identify and research new ideas for consideration by the investment team, Square Mile said in a statement.
John Monaghan, research director at Square Mile, said the company had made a number of recent hires aimed at expanding its teams across all areas of the business.
Monaghan said: “This appointment marks the latest in a series of new hires, both to the Research and Consulting team and within the broader business, demonstrating our commitment to investing in talent at all levels.”
He added: “Charlie’s experience in sustainable investing research is of particular value as we deepen our capabilities to meet the significantly increased interest from advisers and their clients in Responsible Investment.”
