Asset manager Quilter Investors has hired Lindsay James into the newly created role of investment strategist.
James will report to Marcus Brookes, chief investment officer, and externally represent the firm’s investment strategy and its opinions on the economy and financial markets.
She will collaborate with the firm’s portfolio managers and work with partner companies to improve its research and offer investment insights. Additionally, James will lead the tactical asset allocation meetings at Quilter.
James has almost 20 years of financial services experience, starting as an assistant fund manager at F&C Asset Management and later working as an equity research analyst for a European hedge fund. Recently, she was an investment director at Quilter Investors, assisting financial advisers in meeting client needs with the company’s portfolios.
Brookes said: “It is vital that we give advisers and their clients what they need to meet their objectives, and much of this comes in what and how we communicate to them. Along with our portfolio managers, Lindsay helps strengthen the range of experts we have to represent the business and speak with clients, advisers and the media.”
James commented: “Financial markets are a melting pot of ever-changing information, fed not only by news flow from central banks and the economy but also driven by longer-term societal trends, technological breakthroughs and geopolitics. Distilling this information down and using our high-quality research and insight to present it in a variety of ways is something I am looking forward to.”
