Principal Global Investors has made funds available in Austria as it begins to expand into the country from neighbouring Germany where the firm has had a presence since 2003.
The five funds made available to Austrian investors target various assets, including emerging markets equities, real estate investment trusts and high yield bonds.
Principal said last week it intended to “enhance its profile in the Austrian market” where it already has two strategies available and that it had expanded with the appointment of Frank Richter as country manager for sales covering Germany and Austria, and Diana Sippel as fund distribution director also for Germany and Austria.
“If you really want to establish yourself on the entire German-speaking market, you also have to focus on Austria. We will therefore gradually open up our distribution channels in wholesale and institutional business to Austrian investors as well,” said Richter.
The funds available are: Origin Global Smaller Companies; Origin Global Emerging Markets; Global Property Securities; High Yield; Post Global Limited Term High Yield Fund.
Principal already had two strategies available in Austria.
