How would you describe the state of competition in the European asset management industry?
The European asset management industry is highly competitive and fragmented, with local and cross-border players competing for market share. Firms that control costs while driving revenue growth are better positioned to navigate these challenges.
How important do you feel private markets are, in relation to public markets, for growth in the European economy?
Private markets play an essential role in Europe’s economic growth, offering diversification and long-term capital beyond public markets. I have observed that investors seek alternatives in a low-yield environment and demand for private assets, semi-liquid funds, and active ETFs is rising. With a vast reserve of unmanaged assets still available, private markets will be key in shaping the future of European investments, allowing investors to optimise portfolios in a shifting economic landscape.
