Paris-based asset manager Axiom Alternative Investments has launched an international business department and hired a former business development manager from UK hedge fund Winton Capital Management.
Christina Perri becomes director of international business development at Axiom, which has €420 million of assets under management and runs four strategies through retail funds and institutional managed accounts.
Perri is tasked with strengthening Axiom’s institutional business internationally.
Perri was vice president in charge of business covering institutional investors in the UK, Canada and the US at Winton, a position she held for a year.
She was previously head of institutional development with Financière de l’Echiquier in the UK and US from 2009 to 2012.
Among Axiom’s strategies is a focus on sub-ordinated debt issued by financial institutions. Founded in 2006, the firm is headed by five executives who have “technical expertise and extensive knowledge of banking regulation and its evolution” which “permits them to select subordinated debt investments whose value is ignored and misunderstood”, the firm says.
