Northern Trust has hired Gil Platteau to its senior leadership team in Switzerland as part of the firm’s growth strategy in the country.
In this newly-created role, Platteau will manage key client relationships with Swiss pension funds and insurance companies. He will be based in the bank’s Basel office.
Platteau has previously held senior roles at Rothschild Asset Management, Barclays, and Mercer Delegated Solutions where he was country head for the Grand Duchy.
Northern Trust has been providing servicing and investment solutions to Swiss clients for more than 30 years.
Following its acquisition of the fund administration servicing units of UBS Asset Management, the firm says it has become a leading administrator in the market.
