Helsinki-based Nordea Asset Management has launched two sustainable bond strategies.
According to a statement both funds are classified as Article 9 under the SFDR and will apply a double ESG due diligence on both the issuer and the use of issue.
The sustainable and labelled bonds asset class has developed significantly in recent years and the European market is currently valued at about €480bn.
Christophe Girondel, global head of distribution at NAM, said: “These building blocks are ideal for asset allocators creating sustainable fixed income portfolios.”
The European Corporate Sustainable Labelled Bond Fund will be managed by Nordea’s credit team with a primary focus of euro-denominated investment grade labelled corporate bonds and non-labelled corporate bonds and where the issuers are involved in activities that contribute to an environmental or social objective. This fund is not registered in Belgium and Portugal.
The European Sustainable Labelled Bond Fund will be managed by the firm’s fixed income rates team. Its main focus will be euro-denominated investment grade labelled bonds issued or guaranteed by sovereigns, sub-sovereigns, supranational or government-owned entities. This fund is not registered in Belgium, Portugal and the UK.
