Lombard Odier Investment Managers has created two institutional positions in the UK and Benelux.
Tammy McPherson will join as head of UK institutional business development, following her departure from Aviva Investors. Based in the firm’s London office, she will be responsible for raising the profile of the firm’s institutional business with defined benefit pension schemes and insurers.
At Aviva, McPherson was head of insurance business development in the UK, responsible for delivering outcome-oriented investment solutions for UK institutional clients.
Anna de Jong will join as senior sales manager in Amsterdam. She joins from Nomura, where she was executive director of quantitative derivative strategies and solutions for the Dutch market. Prior, she held roles at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and FactSet Research Systems.
De Jong will focus on cultivating the firm’s relationships with institutional clients across the Benelux region, with particular emphasis on the Netherlands.
Carolina Minio-Paluello, global head of sales at Lombard Odier IM, said the hires came at a time when institutional investors face considerable challenges due to low risk premia, low interest rates, reduced liquidity, and political and economic tail risks.
Lombard Odier IM manages assets of 164 billion Swiss francs (€150.7 billion).
