Janus Henderson Investment Trusts has rebranded its TR European Growth Trust to the European Smaller Companies Trust PLC.
The purpose was to make the trust’s investment proposition clearer to investors, though the objective and strategy of the trust remain the same.
The company’s ticker also changed to ESCT. The trust’s objective will continue to seek capital growth by investing in smaller and medium sized companies which are quoted, domiciled, listed, or have operations in Europe (excluding the UK).
Last month, Janus Henderson announced the trust will implement an 8:1 share split. By improving the liquidity of the company’s shares, the firm said the sub-division will enhance the ability of a wider range of investors, particularly retail investors, to make more efficient, regular monthly investments on share dealing platforms, benefitting of all shareholders.
The trust has outperformed the benchmark for the past 10 years.

“These changes will not just give greater clarity to current and potential investors about the focus of the trust but will also make the trust more accessible to monthly savers and those who reinvest their dividends.”
