The Investment Property Forum (IPF) has appointed Stafford Lancaster, chief investment officer of Delancey, as national chair. He has assumed the role of Graeme Rutter, head of investment advisory at CBRE.
The IPF – an individual membership organisation for those operating in UK commercial real estate investment – has also appointed Clare Thomas, partner at CMS, as vice chair and honorary treasurer.
Joining Delancey in 2000, Lancaster oversees the fund and asset-level strategies, historically centred on London offices. In recent years, he spearheaded residential (Get Living plc), education (Alpha Plus Group), and mixed-use development (Earls Court Development Company) initiatives. Managing key co-investment partnerships with APG and Oxford Properties, Lancaster serves as a Trustee at the Reading Real Estate Foundation at Henley Business School.
With expertise across acquisitions, disposals, lettings, and developments, Thomas has a proven track record working with property companies, funds, institutions, and investors. Notably, her transactional proficiency extends to various sectors such as office, residential, student accommodation, hotel, and retail, with a focus on collaborating with Asian investors.
Lancaster said: “This is a time of challenge for many of our members and sponsors in the UK real estate investment market, albeit with inherent value and opportunities for those sufficiently informed and equipped to deliver it.”
Thomas shared that she will collaborate with members to ensure the organisation reflects the richness of its diverse experiences and expertise and build upon the progress made by previous chairs.
