UK investment consultant Redington has been awarded B Corp certification.
B Corp is awarded to firms exhibiting high-performance standards, as well as high standards across accountability and transparency.
To achieve the certification firms must demonstrate high social and environmental performance, exemplified through achieving a B impact assessment score above a certain level, make a legal commitment by altering corporate governance structures to ensure accountability to all stakeholders and exhibit transparency by allowing information about performance to be available to the public.
Over 5,000 companies have been awarded B Corp status to date.
Redington said it remained committed to integrating sustainability and stewardship across its business, notably through Net Zero investment advice, and integrating ESG and stewardship into manager assessments.
Sylvia Pozezanac, CEO of Redington, said: “Purpose beyond profit was central to Redington’s creation and continues to be a core driver of who we are today. Our leadership team and our board are committed to ensuring that environmental and social factors form part of every decision we make as a business – both internally and in all our engagements with clients, communities and peers.
“The B Corp certification isn’t just about us, it’s about the community of organisations around the world who have committed to shaking things up and using business as a force for good.”
Lee Georgs, COO of Redington, added: “Becoming a B Corp is an important way for us to drive global and collective action – and we’re excited by the opportunity this presents. We will continue to challenge ourselves and the industry to do more to use business as a force for good – for people and planet.”
