Fideuram Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking (FISPB), the private bank of Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo Group, is launching a new initiative to boost its digital wealth management growth in Italy and Europe, in collaboration with BlackRock.
The partnership will harness BlackRock’s advanced technology and global investment expertise, marking a step forward for both firms in addressing the evolving needs of investors across Europe.
“We are excited about this new collaboration with BlackRock,” said Tommaso Corcos, head of Intesa Sanpaolo Wealth Management Divisions. “It gives us the opportunity to strengthen our plans in digital wealth management and expand further in Europe, a market with significant room for growth, where we can leverage our expertise, strength, and track record in savings and investment management.”
FISPB aims to expand its market presence geographically and enhance its digital offerings, including brokerage, hybrid advisory, and portfolio management services. Through its collaboration with BlackRock, led in Italy by Giovanni Sandri, FISPB will leverage BlackRock’s investment expertise and technology to create a comprehensive, accessible digital investment platform.

This partnership supports both groups’ goals of guiding clients from saving to investing, offering tailored strategies to meet personal financial goals. Under CEO Carlo Messina, Intesa Sanpaolo has built a business model centered on wealth management, with a focus on digital solutions. Aligned with its 2022-2025 business plan, FISPB’s digital platform, Fideuram Direct, launched in October 2022, enables direct market investing with a personalised, user-friendly approach. This model allows clients to manage investments independently or with remote support from professional bankers.
Rachel Lord, head of BlackRock International, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting BlackRock’s commitment to supporting Intesa Sanpaolo’s growth. “I am delighted that BlackRock’s global investment expertise and market-leading technology capabilities will enable FISPB to accelerate the next phase of growth for their business. We look forward to helping them deliver for their clients in both existing and new markets and drive positive outcomes for a new generation of investors.”
“This agreement,” said Carlo Messina, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, “is a perfect fit with our strategy based on the growth of our Wealth Management business and the development of new digital solutions. Through this collaboration with BlackRock we enable us to increase our European customer base offering cutting edge solutions”.
