UK-based sustainable fund manager Osmosis Investment Management has teamed up with Hertfordshire Pension Fund for the launch of a global equity portfolio.
The mandate will see Osmosis’s local government pension scheme assets under management rise to more than £1 billion.
Osmosis will serve as the adviser on the equity strategy while UBS Asset Management has been appointed as the investment manager.

Hertfordshire Pension Fund, which is part of the ACCESS Local Government Pension Scheme pool, manages the pensions of 529 employers and 123,992 members.
According to the chair of Hertfordshire pension committee, Andrew Williams, the mandate is part of a “challenging transition path” adopted by the pension fund to ensure it becomes net zero by 2050.
“The fund will look to target investment in strategies that address risks such as climate risk and the efficient use of natural resources,” said Williams. “This investment with Osmosis is a clear demonstration of the Fund’s commitment to managing these risks and responsible investment generally.”
