European asset manager HANetf has launched two of its thematic ETFs in France, including what it claims was the first ETF dedicated to the Metaverse.
The ETC Group Global Metaverse UCITS ETF was originally launched in 2022, in partnership with ETC Group, offering exposure to companies involved in the growth of the Metaverse.
It will be listed on Euronext Paris and comes after a record-breaking year in Metaverse real estate sales, according to HANetf.

The prospects for the Metaverse in 2024 are even more promising in the eyes of HANetf, which cites the European Commission’s strategy for Web 4.0 and virtual worlds as well as the US Federal Communications Commission’s decision to allow a range of devices to access the Metaverse.
“2024 could be a year of remarkable development for the metaverse and the companies that underpin it,” stated HANetf.
The second thematic ETF to be launched in France is the Future of Defence UCITS ETF which launched on London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse Xetra, and Borsa Italiana in July of last year, and has since seen its assets under management (AUM) grow to over $200 million.
