FundRock Management Company has appointed lawyer Louise Harris to head up its legal and compliance function in Ireland.
The role is newly created to support the Luxembourg-based firm’s Irish expansion, which began recently.
FundRock is a management company provider for Ucits and regulated alternative investment funds.
Harris has spent eight years as the head of legal and compliance and then general counsel of Abbey Capital, an Irish alternative investment management company with operations in the EU and offshore.
Harris said that the Central Bank of Ireland’s recent conclusion of its ‘CP86’ consultation was driving more usage of management companies.
“The Central Bank recently clarified the management and governance requirements for Irish funds and their directors in its consultation paper CP86. As a result, we are seeing more and more funds appointing management companies or designated persons to ensure proper fund management and governance.”
