Liquid alternatives investment house, Fortem Capital has underlined its ambitious growth plans with the announcement of a senior hire.
The London-based firm has appointed Andrew Warwick as Senior Portfolio Manager: the firm’s third senior appointment this year, with another six strategic hires made across the business.
Formerly Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Blackrock, and most recently Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of Real Return Strategies at Newton Investment Management, Warwick brings 20 years’ experience in managing multi-asset and derivative-based investments for institutional investors to the independent London-based firm. His 33-year investment management career also includes spells with Mercury Fund Managers and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Warwick will work across Fortem’s growing suite of investment funds and play an active role in the design of new products, including bespoke solutions for the firm’s institutional client base. He joins a dynamic and growing investment team, reporting to Chief Investment Officer, Kevin Gray.
“We are excited to welcome Andy to Fortem,” said Gray. “It became clear early in the hiring process that, in addition to his extensive experience and technical expertise, Andy embodies the intellectual curiosity, discipline and collaborative spirit that underpin our culture. That alignment was paramount as we work to scale our investment platform without losing sight of the principles that have shaped it.”
