Fidelity International (Fidelity) has announced the appointment of Jenn-Hui Tan to the role of chief sustainability officer (CSO), a new position within the firm.
Tan, who formerly served as the global head of stewardship & sustainable investing at Fidelity, will now oversee the sustainable investing and corporate sustainability departments.
The alignment is aimed at bolstering the consistent governance of Fidelity’s sustainability initiatives throughout its various client service areas. This will span a wide range of services, including investment management, advisory and personal investment platforms, as well as retirement solutions.
As CSO, Tan will be at the helm of Fidelity’s sustainability strategy, overseeing its execution, governance and delivery. He will continue to manage the sustainable investing team, while the corporate sustainability team will now report directly to him.
Andrew McCaffery, global chief Investment Officer at Fidelity International, remarked on the significance of this new role, stating, “In being diligent managers of capital, our perspective encompasses both the financial and societal impacts of our actions. Thus, setting high-reaching sustainability goals at the enterprise level is fundamental in driving beneficial change.”
Jenn-Hui Tan has been with Fidelity International since 2007, having previously worked at Norton Rose Fulbright as a corporate finance lawyer.
