Asset manager Fidelity International has bolstered its fixed income team with the hire of portfolio manager, Mike Riddell.
Riddell joins Fidelity in August from Allianz Global Investors, becoming the lead portfolio manager for the firm’s bond strategies by January 2, 2025. Tim Foster, the current lead manager, will share portfolio management duties.

Riddell brings 22 years of industry experience in fixed income markets with a strong focus on macro unconstrained fixed income funds. Prior to Allianz Global Investors, Mike worked at M&G in London as a fixed income portfolio manager.
Mike will report to Rosie McMellin, director of portfolio management, fixed income, and will be based in the company’s London office.

Riddell, an experienced fixed income portfolio manager, brings a a focus on low correlation to equity in total return and unconstrained fixed income strategies, and his macro insights will complement the firm’s credit and quantitative research capabilities, added Ellis.
Riddell commented: “I want to be able to add further rigour to the investment process, portfolio construction and especially risk management and oversight, which should all help to benefit client outcomes.”
