Peter Gale, who has served as CIO and head of private equity for over 15 years, is transitioning to a non-executive role as chairman of Federated Hermes Private Equity. Gale, who founded Hermes GPE LLP in 2009, has been a pivotal figure in the firm’s growth and the wider private equity industry, including advising the UK government on long-term pension fund management, which led to the Myners Report.
Steve McGoohan, MD of Federated Hermes Private Markets, commented: “Today’s announcement is the culmination of careful succession planning. Brooks is exceptionally well-placed to drive continued investment performance. We are grateful for Peter’s outstanding leadership and are delighted he will continue to provide his unparalleled experience as Chairman.”
Harrington added: “For over 30 years, our firm’s flexible approach and market reach have enabled us to create value and generate attractive returns for our clients. I am excited to build on this heritage and continue expanding our investment strategies while maintaining our focus on the lower mid-market.”
