Euroclear, an international central securities depositary, has promoted Katrina Sartorius to head FundsPlace, a part of the organisation’s fund services offering.
Sartorius was previously head of product management for Euroclear UK & Ireland, which is Euroclear’s UK central securities depositary, where she worked on the development of collateral products, among other activities.
She also worked on what Euroclear describes as “ground-breaking order routing through-to-settlement service for UK-domiciled investment funds”.
FundsPlace is an infrastructure that provides access to funds for wealth managers, institutions, transfer agents and other.
Sartorius will report to Stephan Pouyat, global head of capital markets and funds services.
Euroclear says its fund strategy has been making “good progress” with 12% growth in fund assets under custody to date. The value of funds serviced by FundSettle, an automated fund processing service that is part of FundsPlace, increased 17% over the prior year, and the volume of fund transactions processed by Euroclear grew 9% to reach 22 million.
