Eurizon SLJ Capital, the UK subsidiary of Italy’s Eurizon, has launched an emerging markets bond ETF on the London Stock Exchange.
The event was marked by a bell-ringing “Market Open” ceremony this morning. The actively managed ETF, the EM Bond Strategic Income Ucits ETF, which has no benchmark, aims to provide emerging market income with developed market risk characteristics through a quality-enhanced investment process.
The ETF offers GBP-Hedged, USD Unhedged listed classes and EUR-Hedged unlisted classes. It is managed by Eurizon SLJ Capital’s London-based team led by Stephen Jen (CEO & co-CIO) and Fatih Yilmaz (co-CIO).
Matt Jones, Head of Distribution for Eurizon SLJ Capital, said: “The fund aims to offer investors transparent, cost-effective, and flexible access to EM bond income with developed market risk characteristics, managed by a diverse team and backed by our research-led approach to investing.
“Emerging Market bonds present an exceptional opportunity for UK investors. As developed markets enter the early stages of a rate-cutting cycle, the yield advantage of EM bonds, their diversification benefits, and the ability of UK investors to access GBP hedged classes enhance their attractiveness as a complementary income source.”
