London-based investment manager Downing has appointed Paul Adams as Head of Liquid Alternatives Sales and Russel Catley as Head of Retail in the same team.
Adams brings more than 20 years’ experience specialising in the sales of complex products including structured products, systematic strategies, and flow equity derivatives. He was most recently European head of Cash Equity and Derivative Sales at Royal Bank of Canada.
His previous experience also includes working at Nomura focussing on distribution to UK and Swiss Private Banks and as Head of UK Retail Structured Products at Lehman Brothers.
He will be joined next month by Catley, the founder and previous Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic House Group.
Catley founded Catley Lakeman Securities, in 2008, before launching Atlantic House Investments in 2013.
His experience in the alternatives space includes senior roles in investment banking and asset management at Citigroup Global Capital Markets and AXA Investment Managers. He was a non-executive director of three Downing Venture Capital Trusts for 12 years.
