Syz Capital has appointed crypto specialist Richard Byworth to head up its burgeoning liquid alternatives business.
The seasoned investment professional has been brought in as managing partner at the entrepreneurial Zurich-based asset management firm, which is the alternative investment arm of the family-owned Syz Group.
Byworth will be in charge of all aspects of liquid alternatives portfolios, investment and advisory including sales.

Former investment banker Byworth has worked in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong, and was managing director at Japanese broker Nomura.
He has extensive experience in Bitcoin as well as the education, healthcare and ecology sectors, and was co-founder and former CEO of the Eqonex Group, where he developed, built and listed the first digital asset ecosystem onto Nasdaq.

Byworth, who has more than two decades of experience in finance, start-ups, investment and fintech, said he is excited about the prospect of helping Syz Capital “continue their excellent growth trajectory” in the dynamic alternatives sector.
