Carmignac has appointed a former global head of operations from Axa Investment Managers to the chief operating officer role.
As well as COO with oversight of Carmignac’s operating model, data, IT and middle office, Gautier Ripert will also join the Paris firm’s strategic development committee.
Ripert was at Axa IM for 16 years in various operations and technology roles. He led large transformation initiatives for front office departments and was also COO of the firm’s Greenwich office in the US.
Gautier started his career in 1995 at Credit Agricole and subsequently joined Societe Generale.
Christophe Péronin, the deputy general manager of Carmignac who previously also acted as COO in a dual role, said Gautier would help bolster growth and operational efficiencies.
