Luxembourg-based asset manager Candriam has launched a 2036 target maturity corporate bond fund, designed to capture opportunities in long-dated investment grade corporate bonds.
The strategy is implemented through the evolution of the existing Candriam Bonds Euro Long Term fund, which has been repositioned to reflect this new approach.
According to a press statement, the launch comes at a time when market conditions are supportive for long-term investment grade corporate bonds. Yield levels have become more appealing, particularly at the longer end of the curve, while issuer fundamentals remain broadly robust.
The actively-managed fund invests primarily in euro-denominated corporate bonds issued by investment grade companies and follows a buy-and-monitor approach, holding securities broadly in line with the 2036 maturity horizon.
This structure is designed to provide investors with greater visibility over their investment horizon, while benefiting from the carry available in today’s market environment.
Classified as an Article 8 fund under SFDR, it integrates ESG analysis into the investment process.
The strategy is managed by Yohanne Levy, Fund Manager, as lead manager and Philippe Dehoux, Head of Global Bonds, as co-manager. It is part of Candriam’s Fixed Income range, representing around €61 billion of assets under management and supported by more than 40 experts.
Nicolas Jullien, Global Head of Fixed Income at Candriam, said: “Today’s market environment is creating a compelling entry point for long-term investors in high-quality corporate bonds. With this new 2036 target maturity fund, we are offering a solution that seeks to combine appealing yield levels with a clear investment horizon and strong credit quality. It also reflects our ability to continuously evolve our platform and bring relevant, forward-looking solutions to our clients.”
The fund is registered for distribution in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
